To ensure they’re always able to communicate with each other, Mr. Duda or Ms. Liang have become accustomed to carrying their phones everywhere together.

Apple AirPods can now translate a dozen languages, including Chinese. Mr. Duda and Ms. Liang have been testing them out.

Mr. Duda and Ms. Liang primarily use Microsoft Translator app to provide text realtime translations.

Apps can sometimes be hit-or-miss for translations, so the couple will occasionally use other apps, on other iPhones, to help them corroborate and communicate.

In September 2022, Ms. Liang booked a one-way flight to the U.S. Though she appreciates the translation apps, she is committed to learning English.
